Team Scottish Bairns

Hello and Welcome from Team Scottish Bairns

H4H 4X4 European Rally 2012

Our Website

Like our Facebook page Scottish Bairns H4H 4X4 European Rally

April 2012 - 31st August 2012 I raised www.bmycharity/teamscottishbairns £10,770 +£2,049 Merchandise

I'm a selfemployed, single mum. On April 10th 2012 after seeing a photograph of two young servicemen in wheelchairs, a result of losing limbs in the Afghanistan Conflict, who were being supported by 'Help for Heroes' charity. Three of my sons are very close to their age I felt very affected by this. Despite their horrific injuries the young men were smiling and happy. This made me feel inspired by the work the charity does and I decided that day I was going to strive to raise money for them. The photograph was displayed on the side of a Help for Heroes 4x4 European Rally Competitors Land Rover. Although I'd never taken part in a Rally, fund raised, camped, driven abroad or off road, this is exactly what I did. I set up 'Team Scottish Bairns' on 12th April 2012

'Team Scottish Bairns' was the only team leaving from Scotland who took part in the H4H 4X4 Euro Rally which covered over 4,000 miles 8 countries in 16 days included France, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg, Austria and Concluded in Bertchesgarten, Germany.

As I am totally self funded and nothing comes out of the donations it is becoming increasingly harder to fund everything. My time is easy as that costs nothing but the servicing and preparation costs of the vehicle and fuel travel expenses soon rack up I was looking for companies to help with funding. I was lucky enough to win £20,000 in an internet prize draw which cleared 2 days before the event allowing me to spend: £3,600+ during the rally on fuel expenses etc, more than that amount attending events, buying official Help for Heroes merchandise: Clothing, banners flags, bunting, printing and other items required for branding, £1,250 towards this Junes entry fee, The Vehicle repairs (The Land Rover has just Had extensive repairs. gearbox etc, day to day running costs as a volunteer and getting to, publicising events which I been to fund raise Have all taken care of my wind fall. Bank Account proof of expenses incurred are available, as well as all collection dates and places are easily accessible on my and when clicking on view all donations

In the last 16 months I, as Scottish Bairns, raised £45,556 for H4H (£29, 000+ donations and sold £16,115.50 official H4H merchandise) As well as prominent places for fund raising The vehicle(AKA Mucky) is also used for school and other presentations, Any company would be able to have space on Mucky to advertise and would also be promoted whenever possible throughout the rally & at fundraising events.

Thank you for your support!!!

About Help for Heroes

What is H4H all about? It's about the blokes, our men and women of the Armed Forces. It's about Derek, a rugby player who has lost both his legs, it about Carl whose jaw is wired up so he has been drinking through a straw. It's about Richard who was handed a mobile phone as he lay on the stretcher so he could say goodbye to his wife. It's about Ben, it's about Steven and Andy and Mark, it's about them all. They are just blokes but they are our blokes; they are our heroes. We want to help our heroes.

Please note, the Bmycharity website will be closing on 31st December 2015. Help for Heroes can no longer create new fundraising pages (however, donations to existing pages are accepted until the closure). If you would like to create a fundraising page in support of H4H, please visit

If you have any questions at all, or want to talk through the transition process, please contact Bmycharity on 01980 846459 or
