Hello and Welcome from Princess Cruises
Thank you for visiting the Princess Cruises Running on Water fundraising page.
On Thursday September 22 Steven Eaton will be running a marathon on board Grand Princess. Steve will have to run around the deck 70 times in order for him to complete the full marathon (26.41 miles).
Steve Eaton from Tamworth has run 33 marathons in the past but this will be his first at sea. Steve, 57, is a friend of the theparent of Staff Sergeant Christopher Chackfield, who was murdered in June 2010 in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Staff Sergeant Chris, 31, had come through tours in Iraq, Kosovo and Bosnia unscathed but was hit in a June 2010 in and unprovoked attached as he waited with his wife, who has just returned herslef from duty in Afganistan, for a taxi outside a bar in the centre of Newcastle, and died as a result of his wounds, leaving behind his wife and young daughter.
Chris had expressed a wish in his lifetime to raise funds for Help for Heroes, but due to his life being cut short was unable to do this. Mr Eaton would now like to do this run on his behalf and raise funds for Help for Heroes.
Donating through this page is simple, quick and secure. It is the most efficient way to give – so every donation goes further – and if you are a UK taxpayer and give Gift Aid consent you will boost your donation.
Thank you for your support.
About Help for Heroes
What is H4H all about? It's about the blokes, our men and women of the Armed Forces. It's about Derek, a rugby player who has lost both his legs, it about Carl whose jaw is wired up so he has been drinking through a straw. It's about Richard who was handed a mobile phone as he lay on the stretcher so he could say goodbye to his wife. It's about Ben, it's about Steven and Andy and Mark, it's about them all. They are just blokes but they are our blokes; they are our heroes. We want to help our heroes.
Please note, the Bmycharity website will be closing on 31st December 2015. Help for Heroes can no longer create new fundraising pages (however, donations to existing pages are accepted until the closure). If you would like to create a fundraising page in support of H4H, please visit https://www.justgiving.com/helpforheroes/
If you have any questions at all, or want to talk through the transition process, please contact Bmycharity on 01980 846459 or firstname.lastname@example.org
