Hello and Welcome from Simon Page

London to Paris 24 hour Cycle Ride - Summer 2011

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

People who know me will realise that the only way I can raise money for charity is by doing something that both they and I know will be a real challenge. Everyone is watching the pennies, and charity fatigue is prevalent, so in order to make it seem worthwhile we have to do something a little more extreme each time. This time I managed to cycle (with some buddies) from London to Paris in under 24 hours. I am 49, and should have woerked harder to get fitter and lighter. I encourage you to look at the Livingstone Tanzania Trust website to see why I am doing all this.

None of the money I raise goes on the expenses I have incurred on this challenge. We received some very valuable help from

It seems that not only do we have to endure physical effort and discomfort in training, but also idiotic car drivers. One weekend in May, on the way back from a 150 mile training ride a car driver threatened to run me over and then punched me so hard I fell to the ground! He has now been convicted of assault, and any compensation I receive will go to the charity.

As if this challenge was not enough, I also have to find a job that pays, so if anyone wants to employ me ...

Donating through this page is simple, quick and secure. It is the most efficient way to give – so every donation goes further – and if you are a UK taxpayer and give Gift Aid consent the charity will receive an extra 25% at no cost to you.

Thank you for your support.

About Livingstone Tanzania Trust

The Livingstone Tanzania Trust is a small grassroots development charity that helps fight poverty through education. We believe that the causes of poverty form a complex web of inter-related issues which if tackled individually will never really tackle poverty. Our holistic approach challenges each aspect of poverty to enable the community to improve their standard of living for themselves thus ensuring self- respect and on-going sustainability.

By supporting our work you are making a contribution to that process be it through schooling, environmental conservation, supporting small businesses, feeding programmes or health programmes. None of this can be done without your fantastic support and we are hugely grateful to you and all those supporting us. By offering a holistic solution we are creating a model that can be copied in neighbouring communities and neighbouring countries. Thank you for your support.
