FOR FUNDRAISERS

1 What does the future hold for Bmycharity?

Bmycharity closed on the 31st of December 2015 and all functionality has been removed. For those fundraisers wishing to raise money for Help for Heroes, we are advising you to use JustGiving as this will be more beneficial for our beneficiaries. To set up your JustGiving page, please visit here. For those fundraisers wishing to raise money for a different Charity, we are advising you to contact your chosen Charity to discuss a preferred alternative online giving platform for you to use.

2 I use Bmycharity as my online giving platform. What happens now?

If you are a H4H fundraiser, we are advising you to use JustGiving as Help for Heroes have selected them as their preferred online giving platform. If you are fundraising for any other Charity, we would suggest you to contact your chosen Charity to discuss where your new fundraising page should best be created.

2.1 Will my Bmycharity page(s) transfer over to another online giving site automatically?

Unfortunately, an automatic transfer from Bmycharity to another online giving platform is not possible. If you are a H4H fundraiser, you are able to copy and paste any text that you may have as well as photos and place these onto your new fundraising page(s). You may also copy and paste your total fundraising amount on your Bmycharity page and make a note of this in your ‘Offline’ donations on your new fundraising page(s).

2.2 Can I merge the amount raised on my Bmycharity page(s) onto another online giving site?

You can take the amount you have raised for your nominated charity on Bmycharity, and add it as an “offline” amount to another online giving site.

2.3 If Bmycharity closes, what happens to the donations which have been pledged on the page?

The donations already pledged via Bmycharity either have been, or will, be paid across to your nominated charity – these are completely secure.

2.4 How long will my Bmycharity page(s) remain online for?

Your fundraising pages will be available in an archive state for a limited period only. You will still be able to view your pages if you have retained or made a note of the URL. All functionality has been removed from the website and so you will not be able to search for your page.

2.5 I have been with Bmycharity for years. What happens to all the history and comments on my page(s)?

Your fundraising pages will be available in an archive state for a limited period only. You will still be able to view your pages, as well as your donations history and comments, if you have retained or made a note of the URL.

2.6 As a fundraiser, how much support will Bmycharity offer me with the transition to a new giving site?

If you are fundraising for Help for Heroes, we would advise you to use JustGiving as your alternative online giving platform. Help for Heroes have selected to use this platform as its online fundraising partner. They have spent a good deal of time investing in their services, all of which are there to help make your fundraising easier! If you are fundraising for any other Charity, we are suggesting that you contact your chosen Charity directly to discuss an alternative online giving platform that they may wish you to use.

2.7 What will happen to existing personal data held by Bmycharity when the company closes down?

For Inland Revenue purposes this information will be securely held by Bmycharity for the statutory period. Please note Bmycharity does not hold credit card data.

2.8 If I have any questions who should I contact?

If you have any questions at all, or want to talk through the transition process, please contact Bmycharity on fundraise@bmycharity.com.

3 Managing your fundraising page

3.1 I have a cheque and/or cash donations (offline amounts) to pay in, how do I do this?

If you are fundraising for Help for Heroes, you can send your cheques, payable to Help for Heroes, through to the following address:-

The Donations Team

You can pay cash donations into any Lloyds TSB quoting the following:

Sort code                   30 90 21

If you are fundraising for any other Charity, we would suggest you to contact the Charity directly to find the best way to pay these donations in.

3.2 What happens to the donations collected on my page?

The donations already pledged via Bmycharity either have been, or will be, paid across to your Charity automatically, these are completely secure.

3.3 What about gift aid for the donations I have received? Will you collect this on my Charity's behalf?

We collect Gift Aid consent from our donors during the donation process, however unless your donation is for the Help for Heroes charity we do not claim the gift aid on our charity's behalf. However we do provide each charity with access to gift aid reports which they can create and send to the HMRC to claim gift aid.
